The Ol' Switcheroo

I recently had one of those "D'oh!" moments--the type of moment when you suddenly realize something that should have occurred to you days, weeks or months ago. It involved the Japanese site Hand-Spanking.com which features F/f spankings by hand only-- a site I've been a member of and consider to be a site definitely worth paying for.

In the past, I talked about the things I liked about it, most noticeably the models. The women, with few exceptions, all have that Oriental beauty--timeless and ageless faces, cute little spankable bottoms, and (occasionally) a voice that could cut glass when they're reacting to a spanking. But sitting at work about a week ago, another reason why I liked the site suddenly dawned on me--and why it took so long for me to recognize it is a mystery.

To explain, I first have to go back many years to a time when I was at a spanking party. Several of us were just sitting around talking--spankers, spankees, a few switches--when one woman asked, "What is it you guys like so much about women spanking other women? What's the big deal to you? Why do you like it so much? Would you be that interested if it were a man spanking another man?"

It should come as no surprise that all the males there showed no interest in the M/m scenario.

As for the rest of the question, for me the answer was pretty simple--as long as the spankee was female, it really didn't matter to me who the spanker was. I'm probably not even looking at the spanker. My first response on seeing a F/f photo, for instance, is always, "I wish I was doing the spanking". Since I can't, I'm just happy to see the lady being spanked--the spanker makes no difference, male or female.

I later came to realize that my second response to a F/f photo was, "I'd like to spank the lady who's doing the spanking, too." Apparently, when it comes to F/f pictures, my mind always assumes the spanker is a switch and therefore, subject to being spanked. Don't ask me why--it's not an assumption I ever make in real life. I guess, in fantasy, anything is possible.

I was thinking about that very subject when I had my "moment of clarity"--that's one reason why I liked Hand-Spanking.com. They feature that sort of role-reversal in quite a few of their scenarios.

Take, for example, a series of updates they ran back in September. The first one (video clips and photos) involved a patient in a hospital using a cell phone in an area where cell phones were prohibited. The nurse who caught her decided to deal with her in a very stern manner.....

Later on, the patient came across the nurse breaking the very same rule, and took it upon herself to see the rule enforced....

See? Role-reversal.
The next scenario was a standard one, a mother spanking her daughter over some offense--a very normal and standard set piece of many spanking sites. But the next update went back to the role-reversal theme. A big sister takes her younger sister to task over her homework....

Later, the younger sister catches big sis doing some self-spanking. (Big sister is apparently a big spanko!) The younger girl decides it's the perfect opportunity to take her revenge.....

Once again, spanker becomes spankee--a sight I definitely like to see when it comes to F/f scenes.

I'm glad I figured that out. It just might mean it's time for me to sign up for another membership run!

Happy Thanksgiving

On this day, we are privileged to open our eyes to the miracle of sunlight, of air and ground.... To feel the wind and hear the leaves move in appreciation.

Today and every day, I wish you the comfort of home and family.

Today and every day, I wish you friends for play and for laughter.

Today and every day, I wish you happiness and peace and love.

If you already have all these things, give thanks and wrap your arms around them.

If you don't have all these things, give thanks for the things you do have.....and I wish that this is the year you find the parts that you feel are missing.

Breathe in this day deeply, and count each breath as a blessing.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh, The Weather Outside Is Frightful

Calling the current stretch of weather which seems to be gripping a good part of the nation "frightful" might be a bit of a stretch. When I think of "frightful" weather, I tend to visualize blizzard conditions--strong winds and blowing and drifting snow. The current weather is mostly just cold.

Mind-numbing, bone-chilling frikkin' COLD!

This seems like a good time to stay at home for some fun indoor activites.......

....like, reading some new blogs!

I had mentioned that my blog list was going to expand as I explored many of the blogs that participated in "Love Our Lurkers" day which was organized by Bonnie over on My Bottom Smarts. I'm adding 7 blogs to my list--yes, 7!--which should keep you indoors and warm and by your computer with a cup of hot cocoa for a pleasant day of reading.

Interestingly enough, the first blog I'm adding did NOT come off of Bonnie's list--rather, it came from the "comments" section" of Radha Sutra (another fine blog which you should all be reading). It's a relatively new blog called Life By Jade in which Jade Girl talks about her DD relationship. I'm looking forward to reading more of this one.

All of the other blogs came off of Bonnie's list. Some were completely new to me, a few were blogs that I had glanced at before but never went back to for some reason. All of them have something to offer, and I hope you'll take the time to drop by and give them a look. As always, leave them a comment or just say, "hi"--some feedback is always appreciated.

Tell them "Dr. Ken sent me."

Here are the rest of the blogs. The links to them can be found in my blog list on the right-hand side of the screen--

M-I-C....

On November 18, 1928, in some long-forgotten picture emporium, the lights went down, the curtain went up, a projector lens flickered to life--and Mickey Mouse first appeared in the animated short Steamboat Willie!

With my love of all things Disney, I couldn't possibly let that occasion slide by without comment.
So, Happy 80th birthday, Mickey!

Wow--80! I wonder how old that is in mouse years?

A Whole Lot Of Reading

Love Our Lurkers 3 is behind us, and while the actual totals aren't in, I think I can safely say it was an unqualified success. It certainly generated a lot of traffic here, and the number of comments that were left are an all-time high for me!

So first, thanks to Bonnie for organzing this event and getting a large number of the spanking community involved. Second, thanks to everyone who participated--either by hosting the event on their blogs, or by de-lurking and leaving comments!

The day brought about two very happy results. The first--and probably the most satisfying--was to see the names of some of the people who delurked. A good number of them are bloggers, as well, and in many cases I was familiar with their work. I heard from so many people whose blogs I respect and admire that it gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling to realize that they read my blog and were kind enough to say nice things about it. That's really something special to me, and I appreciate it a great deal.

The other happy result? I now have a whole lot of new blogs that I want to go back to and read! On My Bottom Smarts, Bonnie kept a running list of all the blogs that participated in LOL Day. As I saw the comments rolling in here, I decided that I wanted to visit each blog on the list and leave a comment. (I think I may have missed a few.....my apologies to them!) As I went to each new site, I couldn't help but look around at some of the previous posts, and the same thought kept repeating itself time after time: "I want to come back here again and dig into the archives."

After all, if I didn't do some looking around, I would never have found this image from DarkCasket.com on Dixie's blog, The Inner Workings of Dixie (thedixiewithin.blogspot.com).
Being a big Disney fan--and knowing a few others--I had to grab the image and post it here. I never would have found it if not for LOL Day.

So now my plan is this--go back to Bonnie's list and work my way down it, one blog at a time, and when I find one that I like or that looks promising I'm going to add it to my blog roll. I've got a feeling the blog roll is going to be getting huge before this is over. :-)

In fact, thanks to LOL Day, the are three new additions to the roll, and you can find links to them on the right hand side of the screen. The first probably needs no real introduction, it's simply one of the best blogs around, and that's Todd and Suzy's American Spanking Society.
When I left a comment on their blog, I poked around for a bit and then asked myself, "Why don't I already have them linked?" I couldn't answer that, so it only makes sense to finally add thm to the roll.

Other additions are Jai's Confessions of a College Spanko and SpankingBarbie's Blogs of a Mid Life Crisis. Please go visit all of them and leave them a nice note or comment. Tell 'em Dr. Ken sent you.

Now--where'd I put my reading glasses??

Love Our Lurkers Day....And.....

Every day, hundreds of people come and visit this blog. Maybe you want to see what I have to say. Maybe you just come to look at the pictures. A handful leave comments, but most of you don't. Well, be silent no longer! This is YOUR day--the day we share the love with our silent readers--the third annual LOVE OUR LURKERS day!

It's a chance for bloggers like me to thank the overwhelming majority of people who visit us. This year, something like 135 blogs are participating. For a comprehensive list, check out Bonnie's blog, "My Bottom Smarts".

To participate, all you have to do is the one thing you usually don't--leave me a comment! You can say as much or as little as you like, but say something! You can make up a name, post anonymously, whatever you're comfortable with. This blog, as you may have noticed, is all about having fun--so for one day out of the year, please feel free to join in, even if it's just to say, "Hi", or tell me where your from.

Your presence here is deeply appreciated whether you leave a comment or not. But I'd certainly like to hear from you. Let me know what you're thinking, what other blogs you enjoy reading--how much you say is up to you. I look forward to reading what you all have to say--because like the subject line says--we love our lurkers!

+++++++++++

The "And" part of this post--today, of course, has a deeper and more serious meaning. The eleventh day of the eleventh month is the day that America honors it's Veterans--to remember those who have served as well as those currently serving. Please say a prayer of thanks to those doing what, at times, certainly seems like a thankless job.

They leave their home and loved ones behind. They fight battles not of their own choosing. In some cases, they make the ultimate sacrifice. They do it to protect our freedoms, our liberties, and our way of life. And they do it proudly and without hesitation.

These are the modern-day heroes. They deserve our respect and our thanks. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers--today and every day.
