When Statues Attack

Meet Yamad.

Yamad is a figure in an Anime story, known for hitting tape-measure home runs.  The bronze statue is just one of many statues of anime characters that are in Japan.  The clearly are meant to be a tourist attraction,  as well as an attraction for the locals.  The idea, I'm sure, is that people will come to look or take photos with the statues, and then take the time to pop into the various shops in the area.

Some very clever girls have their own idea of how to pose with the statue.

For example, some of them have emulated the baseball as it flies off of Yamad's bat....

Or what happens when he "crushes" the ball

Luckily for us, most of these girls--probably based on personal experience--take a more traditional approach--

Dr Ken -
Posts like these make me wonder. This is a great well researched post, unique, and clever and yet...and yet no comments. Regardless keep up the good work. I for one appreciate it.

Best,
Enzo

Enzo -- I appreciate your kind words. I'm guessing that the "no comments" situation is just due to the fact that some other blogs have already posted many of these pictures, so it's a case of people coming here and going, "Oh, these photos. Seen 'em already.", and then moving on.
