Ah, old time Hollywood. Spanking in mainstream movies is practically non-existent--not entirely gone, but pretty rare. And that favorite movie gimmick, the spanking publicity photo, is pretty much extinct. Old Hollywood used to love the Spanking Publicity still, even if there was no actual spanking in the movie. Sometimes there was a spanking photo just to highlight the studios performer.
Here are a few reminders of those good old days...

Actually the first one did have a spanking in that one,but it was nothing like the picture that they used. I think the movie was Stronger Than Desire.the rest are great.somebody did a crop job on the one with the man and woman getting spanked so only the woman was getting spanked. it is great to think Lawrence Welk was a spanker and couldn't you just imagine him spanking the Lennon Sisters.it is always a thrill to see a wedding dress spanning and the last one with her skirt up getting a birthday spanking.I loved all these and wish there were spankings in modern movies that publicity stills would make a comeback (I always think Zoe Salenda in any of her movies would be a great spankee or for that matter Gal Badly as well) thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.

Jim -- The second and seventh photos also came from films with the spanking shown--the second one is "The Thin Man Goes Home", if I remember correctly, with the lovely Myrna Loy getting swatted with a rolled-up newspaper. I know the seventh picture under the film name "The Hard-Boiled Canary", although I believe there is another title attached to it.
The last image is also shown in SPK comics, Nov.6/22
"Eilene Janssen gets an 18th birthday spanking on the set of 'The Search for Bridey Murphy'"
Evidently, she was spanked by everyone in the cast!
Too bad nobody had smartphones to record the event back in those days.
The 1st photo is interesting as the spanking seems to be interupting by a very stern looking young lady who us taking the spanker by the ear....to turn the tables and spank him perhaps ?
I doubt it , but still a nice photo.
Thanks for sharing.
Anonymous -- The bit about her being spanked "by everyone in the cast" sounds more like something the publicity department made up. Still, who knows?
Glenmore -- I doubt it, too. I'd say her presence in the photo is just the publicity department's way of saying, "Oh, and she's in the movie, too!"
