Despite what it may look like from the string of pictures running diagonally across this poster for the 1938 movie, "Hard To Get", starring Dick Powell and Olivia de Havilland --

--to the best of my knowledge, no spanking takes place in this film.  Dick Powell is simply hauling her back after she tries to run out on paying her bill at the gas pump.  Here's a better picture--
