- I'm Dr. Ken, 72, and single. I'm a Spanker, I live in Minnesota--hence the blog name! Spanking Minnesota is updated daily. While the main thrust of this blog is adult consensual spanking, it's not the ONLY thing you'll find here. There will be posts about spanking, of course, but I reserve the right to post about anything I want. I think spanking is fun, whether it's "mock punishment" (or "funishment"), something a little more disciplinary, or a spanking just for the heck of it, and I want this blog to reflect that.. I'm a member of the Minnesota Spanking Group on FetLife, and was a long-time member of Chicago Crimson Moon. I've been known to attend other parties around the nation, such as the Texas All-State Spanking party. I love these photo's of June brides, being spanked on their knickers down bare bottoms. To me this justifies a happy marriage usually begins with a well spanked naked rear end of a blushing bride.

The wedding themed pictures remind me of a custom long followed in the Russian Orthodox Church. Are you familiar with it? When a betrothal takes place, the father of the bride gives her three light swats, then hands the switch to his future son in law who does likewise. It symbolizes the passage of the father's authority over his daughter to the young man she will wed. This is briefly depicted in the movie "Peter the Great." Today, naturally, it is done in a spirit of good humor, but in times past it conveyed a very serious meaning, indeed!

I do seem to recall hearing of a tradition--no idea what country or culture it's from--where the Mother spanks the Bride on her wedding day before the ceremony, symbolizing the last day the daughter is under her guidance, and that once married, the husband takes over that role.
Dr. Ken, Yes you are correct. This seems to have been a tradition in rural parts of Sweden.
