Have you seen the promo ads for the upcoming season of "Samantha Who?", starring Christina Applegate? It's just a quick series of scenes, so I have absolutely no idea what's going on or what the plot of this particular episode is, but it starts with a shot of Samantha saying to someone off-camera, "Please, please spank me!" (Hey, she wouldn't have to ask me twice!) Do you suppose the writers of the show have been coming across spanking blogs like--oh, I don't know--THIS one and reading comments about her being high on a lot of "Celebrities I'd Like To Spank" lists?
This is followed by a shot of one lady getting a fairly decent whack on the backside from another lady. Again, no idea why.
I guess the only way to find out is to tune in and hope for the best. "Samantha Who?" starts it's new season Oct. 13th, 9:30 EST on ABC. Maybe we'll get lucky and see Christina the way we'd all like to see her:
And yes, that's Christina Applegate's bottom getting warmed at the very very end of the movie, The Sweetest Thing.
More TV and spanking talk--
Gene Simmon's Family Jewels seems to me to be one of the more scripted "reality shows". I don't mean that they're all memorizing lines of dialogue. I think the situations they find themselves in each episode, however, are all planned out well in advance. I watch and enjoy the show regardless.
One bit they always do is having two or more of the family sitting on a red couch talking toward the camera discussing some aspect of their lives or what's going on in that episode. In this past season, the mom (Shannon Tweed) is on the couch with 16-year old daughter, Sophie. Shannon says that when it came to discipline, Gene was--I'm paraphrasing here, but I think the word used was "absent"--and she added that "he'd wait for me to come home and spank you." At which point Sophie looks down and away from her mom, and gets an odd expression on her face. I get the feeling it was part embarassment, part "MOM, ix-nay on the anking-spay" sort of thing. And Shannon suddenly seems to realize it, too, because she backtracks and hesitantly says, 'I never spanked you, did I?". Sophie says, "No," very sweetly and Shannon, trying to make a joke out of it, fake-smacks Sophie's arm and in a harsh voice demands, "DID I?"
The little vignette ends with Sophie laughing it off with one of the most forced, faked laughs I've ever heard. Which leads me to believe that yes, there were indeed times when some spanking went on in the Simmons household, and that they had probably agreed privately among the family at some point that these incidents were never going to be mentioned on the show.
And--like everything else--I could be totally wrong about that. The curse of an active imagination.......
Finally, we come to a quote from "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey, pictured here with his wife, Jillian Fink:
Here's the pertinent quote as reported in a British Tabloid:
He said: “Romance is an atmosphere, a feeling, a mood, a place, it’s in the air. It is the little things - even a spanking every now and then!
“It is hard to define romance other than going with the clichés of a lake, a boat, a picnic basket and a sunset.”
But the sexy actor also treats his wife to more conventional romantic treats, and loves whisking her off for a weekend in France and Italy.
“Certain cities are so exciting because they promote being physical in public,” he revealed. “Paris, New York and Rome are fun to visit. But then there is the Italian countryside, Tuscany and Florence, where everyone is romancing.”
Hmmmm....a little spanking? Being "physical in public"? I think a lot of women who liked Patrick Dempsey now like him a whole lot more!
Hey, does this mean that on "Grey's Anatomy" they're going to change his nickname from "McDreamy" to "McSpanky"?
I can only hope.....

Finally, a reason to be excited about the new Fall tv lineup! :-)
Ken,
As a KISS fan from many years back (more than 30) I can say with relative certainty that Gene and possibly Paul were, while maybe not spankos in the strictest sense, spanking inclined. I was 15 when their LP "Destroyer" (the one with the sappy balled "Beth" on it) came out and there's a song on there called "Sweet Pain". The lyrics make it sound like Gene was into some very heavy stuff LOL.
Cigi and I took our then 15-year-old nephew to see KISS in 2000 and we were treated to Paul threatening to take someone over his knee for pointing one of those laser thingies at their video screen. Talk about a fantasy fulfilled! Paul was my favorite! LOL
Now as to Mr. Patrick Dempsey...I would spank his cute butt in a nanosecond and I'm not even a top!
Smiles,
Cheryl
oh man Christina Applegate. I had a major TV crush on her during her "Married with Children" days, and the outfits she had on for the show. . . .
blog on,
Dave
I didn't want to say this on my blog, but his wife's name is FINK?
When I watched that video clip Cheryl recommended and Gwen found, what I saw on second viewing, while looking for the late-teen Dempsey, was an anxious face that reminded me a WHOLE lot of Louie Krupnick, a junior high school friend. I sat my first of several Seders at Louie's house, and even had the feast at my house a couple of times, so don't read anything negative into this.
Dempsey's father may be goy, but his mother, and grandmother too for my money, is a yid, and that makes him a Jew, for what that's worth - a lot in Mediaville, you just betcha. But why else would a mick marry a Fink? Okay, I nearly married a Kaufmann but only her FATHER was Jewish, and that just didn't work out, family Seders notwithstanding.
Still, I'd bet the rent Dempsey's was an arranged marriage - and he won. *G*

Season--You mean you've given up on "Lost"?
Cheryl--look out, World, Cheryl's getting "toppy"....(even if it is only with Patrick Dempsey)...LOL
Dave--I think, once she was old enough, every male watching that show had a thing for her. And she's only getting more beautiful with age!
Dev--Well, Jillian Fink Dempsey, to be precise. And a lovely Fink at that....
Do you suppose she's distantly related to Mike Fink, legendary King of the River Boat Men? It might explain her affinity for being paddled....:-)
The Mike Fink connection DID occur to me, Doc, though too late to include in my previous blather. Just hope Dempsey knows better than to use a regulation riverboat paddle on that delicate derriere. *G*
