"Discipline"

Janet Jackson--she of the Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction--is back with a new album. As you can tell by her gloves, the album's title is "Discipline"--not to be confused with the King Crimson album, "Discipline" or the group that is actually named Discipline.

One of Janet's previous albums was called "The Velvet Rope". Hmmm...rope....discipline....do you think she's trying to tell us something?

And before you dismiss the idea out of hand, keep in mind that the title track, "Discipline" contains the lines, "Daddy, I disobeyed you/Now I want you to come punish me/Don't hold back..."

There is no truth to the rumor that one of the songs left off the album was called, "Spank Me, Justin, My Boob Is Showing....."

Well it could mean that Janet Jackson is a closeted spanko Dr. Ken! LOL! I don't listen to her music anymore since I am not into that type of music listening. LOL! Let's see what else she might come out with. Next title album....Bondage? LOL!

Pest, do you really think that a nice girl like Janet Jackson could really be into something "that" dirty?

Probably her marketing guy thought it would be a smart move -- you know, to get free publicity and stuff. And then of course, to make it real and not a lie, he'd have to start spanking her regularly.

Dr. Ken, have you considered the possibility that "anyone" who lives in a place like Minnesota must have a masochistic streak?

Karl, I don't know what type of nice girl Janet Jackson is since I don't read about her in the tabloids. I have turned a deaf ear to all that crap! LOL!

But Pest, don't you know that Barbara Ehrenreich said that "...knowledge of the stars IS American culture...". You wouldn't want to be culturally illiterate now would you, Pest? So get with the program -- watch TV and read the news. Next you'll be telling me is you only watch PBS and listen to NPR. And you only read Harpers and Atlantic Monthly.

KARL--who said Janet Jackson was a "nice" girl? :-)

PEST--OMG! You're deaf?? LOL

karl, who is Barbara Ehrenreich? Well, I don't watch television right now since I don't have cable, but I do watch my DVDs and VHS! Guess what some of those are? LOL! As to reading, I read spanking stories on internet when I am at the library; spanking books and literature I have in my collection; and anything else that interests me!

Very funny, Dr. Ken! I am NOT really deaf! I AM slightly vision impaired though! LOL!

Pest, Barbara Ehrenreich is nothing to do with TV. She's a writer. You might call her a leftist social critic. Recent books include "Nickled and Dimed" (about the working poor in America) and "Bait and Switch" (about the plight of the American middle class). I used to read her column in "Mother Jones" magazine.
I think the touch of irony in her quote was intentional.

Dr Ken, I just figured that since you featured her on your site, she "had" to be a nice girl. I mean, why else would you have been listening to her music. I mean, you MUST have good taste, since you even don't like of the "music" at Disney.

Further to Barbara Ehrenreich, Lewis Lapham (former editor of Harpers) challenged her to go around America working at bottom echelon jobs and to write about the experience. In her book (Nickled and Dimed) she tells how she once told someone she wasn't "really" a maid, she was a writer. Do you think they believed her?
