The Twelve Days Of Christmas

On the first day of Christmas,
My true love gave to me
A hand-spanking over his knee.

A not-so-brief note:

I got the idea to do a spanking-oriented version of The 12 Days of Christmas early in December. I knocked out the first 7 verses during a lunch hour at work. When I went home that night, I looked up the lyrics to the real song on-line, since I couldn't remember all the later verses. I like to see the original when I'm doing these songs. Sometimes the real lyrics will help suggest what my lyrics should be. In this case, it was, "Hmmm, okay, 'lords a-leaping'. So maybe a gift that begins with 'L' ". I couldn't do that with every verse, but it gave me a place to start.

Even as I was starting to jot down ideas for this parody, I was thinking to myself, "You KNOW that other people must have done this before. With all the blogs out there, someone else in the spanking community must have knocked this out." Since then, I've seen at least two other versions. Interestingly enough, they all start out with pretty much the same idea in the first verse--the first gift involves going OTK.

When you think of gifts for spankos, you naturally think of the various implements and accessories that are sometimes used. That's the way I went, and so did the other versions. As I looked at them, I noticed that in some cases we even had the same implement on the same day and, at least once, we had the same thing word for word. I briefly considered changing mine, then decided not to do it. Some form of duplication was probably unavoidable.

So, over the next twelve days, you'll get my version. The actual 12 Days of Christmas begin on Christmas Day and run through January 5th, the eve of Epiphany--so, I'm a day late in starting mine. In the long run, I don't think it makes any difference.

Enjoy!

Holly Happydays!

Merry Christmas to one and all!

This picture is an old one that has been around seemingly forever. Still, it's a favorite of mine, so I'm going to use it anyway.

For many of us, Christmas is like this picture--it's a time we can surround ourselves with something old, something familiar, something comfortable. Millions of people travel and go back home for this holiday--something they don't do any other time of year. It's a chance to reconnect with friends, with family--a chance to reconnect with that inner child. It's a time to relive all the old family holiday tradtions that hold happy memories for all of us.

I could have easily told you weeks ago how my Christmas Eve was going to go. The family would all go to my Mother's place. A number of us would play cards or play board games, with my mother disappearing every now and then into the kitchen to make sure the food was coming along as it should. One final game--maybe some double or triple solitaire--and then dinner would be served. It would almost be an instant replay of the Thanksgiving dinner one month before--Turkey, stuffing, mashed potates, sweet potates, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, a salad and some kind of vegetable--corn, most likely.

After dinner, we'd clean up, and then go into the living room and open presents. We open all the presents on Christmas Eve--no need to hold anything back for Christmas day. Then it would be off to church for a late night service. When we returned, we'd gather at the kitchen table for cookies and coffee (or cider, or milk). Once done, we'd all say our goodnights and head back to our own abodes.

Did it happen pretty much exactly that way? Yes. Was I at all disappointed by the fact? No, not in the slightest. That's the way we do Christmas Eve in my family. It's our tradition. It's like being wrapped in a warm security blanket. That's what makes the holidays such a joyous occasion, and why we do it year after year after year.

If your facing the holidays alone, however, it's the lack of these things that make the season so difficult. You get none of the camraderie or companionship, none of the sense of anticipation. It's hard to capture the joy of the season when you feel like you're all by yourself.

But--it's the Christmas celebration. And that means that you are NOT alone.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given.......And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Fater, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)

You are never alone.

May the promise of Christmas leave you eagerly awaiting each brand new day in the coming year.

May the comfort of Christmas wrap its arms around you and keep you cozy and warm.

May the peace of Christmas settle upon you like a silent snowfall.

This is my wish for all of you out there. Merry Christmas!

Santa's Tawse Is Going To Town

Well, boys and girls, it's almost Christmas Eve, and you know what THAT means! That's right, it's time for another Spanko Christmas Carol. This time, it's sung to the tune of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.'

Enjoy!

SANTA'S TAWSE IS GOING TO TOWN

Oh, you should have watched out
You know that you should
Now you're bent over
And getting it good

Santa's Tawse is going to town

He checked his list
Your name's on it twice!
Now it's "pants down"
And you're paying the price

Santa's Tawse is going to town

Each girl elf in his workshop
Knows Santa's strong right arm
They know their work had best not stop
Or he'll do their bottoms harm

OW!

You should have watched out
You know that you should
Now you're bent over
And getting it good

Santa's tawse is going to town

There's paddles and canes
In his toy pouch
Whackity-whack
And ouchity-ouch

Santa's tawse is going to town

He's spanking away
Just like he oughtta
He's making you feel
Like your bum's a pinata

Santa's tawse is going to town

You wish that you could just hop
Into your snug, warm bed
But Santa said he won't stop 'til
Your bottom is bright red

OW!

You should have watched out
You know that you should
Now you're bent over
And getting it good

Santa's tawse is going
Your behind is glowing
Santa's tawse is going
To town!

Christmas Songs For.......

I can take absolutely NO credit for this post. I heard it from someone who called in to The Cooper Lawrence Show Friday night, and I have no idea if he wrote it or if he found it somewhere else. The premise of the bit was, "Christmas Songs For Mental Patients". The caller read off a number of them, but I can only remember four. Still, I thought I'd post them here with the hopes you get a chuckle out of them.

Christmas Song For Someone With A Split Personality--

"Do I Hear What I Hear"

Christmas Song For Someone Suffering From Paranoia--

"Santa Claus Is Coming To Town To Get Me"

Christmas Song For Someone With Attention Deficit Disorder--

"Hark The Herald Angels....oooooooooo, a frog! Hey, keys! Shiny!"

And last--

Christmas Song For Someone with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder--

Jingle Bells,
Jingle Bells,
Jingle Bells,
Jingle Bells,
Jingle Bells,
Jingle Bells,
Jingle Bells,
Jingle Bells........

If I remember any more, I'll add them to this post. I hope you found a laugh in there somewhere.....

Radio Spanko revisited

Back in a post on September 9, I talked about the radio station I listen to at work--FM 107.1. Here in Minnesota, it's where you can find The Cooper Lawrence Show, which I've also talked about in the past. Before Cooper, though, we have The Lori and Julia show--and I speculated that Lori may be something of a secret spanko. I have no direct proof, of course, but I do sometimes wonder about her.

Those thoughts resurfaced last week during an on-air exchange between the two ladies. Julia was starting to go on and on about Oprah coming out and discussing her weight problems--how that really humanized her and you got a hint of the person behind the icon, etc., etc. The only problem was that they had talked about the same thing on the show the day before, and Lori was bored with it, to put it mildly.

Consequently, after Julia threw a few more platitudes Oprah's way, Lori broke in and wondered out loud if the sales of Oprah's magazine were declining, and if that was the reason Oprah was being so confessional--because, she explained, the only time celebrities reveal things about themselves is if they've got something to sell--a new record, a new movie, you name it.

Julia, then, got upset about this cynical view, and the two of them went back and forth for a bit. Julia kept trying to get back to her "Oprah has the same problems as we all do" line, and Lori kept shooting it down, suggesting there had to be an ulterior motive to Oprah's coming out and speaking up about her weight issues. Julia finally just told Lori, "You are being so mean right now."

And Lori started to laugh and replied, "Give me a spanking. I'm being a bad, bad girl".

Shortly thereafter, it was time to stop for some commercials, and this is how they went into the break--

JULIA: We'll be right back after this.

LORI: (laughing) Julia's going to try and turn me over her lap.........and spank me!

JULIA: ...And spank her!

I still don't know if Lori is really a spanko or not--it could just be that she's not averse to a little playful spanking now and then without being totally into it. Whatever the truth is, though--it's fun to listen to!

A Short P.S.

For those who might wish to learn a little bit more about Bettie Page, I would suggest going to http://www.bettiepage.com/.

If you click over to the second page, there is a "Press release: Bettie Page Obituary" that is a quick but excellent overview of her life. There are also other areas--a photo gallery, naturally--that you can browse around in.
I do have a few quibbles with the press release. They refer to Bettie as "falling under the spell" of Paula and Irving Klaw, who shot most of the spanking and bondage photos that she appeared in. It makes them sound like a couple of evil masterminds. By all the accounts that I have read, they all quickly became friends, with Bettie practically being treated as a member of the family.
The other point is when they refer to the photos as "sadomasochistic". The images I've seen are too mild to fall under that category. Bondage, yes--discipline, yes. But I have a hard time thinking of them as S&M.
Below is the last known (to me, anyway) photo of Bettie. At the time, she was 80. That's artist Olivia on the right, with Hugh Hefner holding up a poster of her work that was clearly influenced by the lady on the right--Bettie Page.

Goodbye Bettie Page

Everybody's favorite pin-up, Bettie Page, passed away yesterday. She was 85-years old. She had suffered a heart attack last Friday and had been in intensive care. Actual cause of death is said to be pneumonia.

I think just about everyone who is into spanking is familiar with Bettie. The spanking and bondage photos she shot with Irving Klaw are very well-known, and for many of us, they were the first spanking photos we had ever seen. Irving Klaw used a lot of models in his photos, but there was something about Bettie that stood out and captured our imaginations. Bettie thought that maybe it was her smile.

She may have been right, to a certain extent. Bettie had some acting aspirations that never amounted to anything, but she did know the value of the right facial expression for the situation. I always thought that was one of the things that set her apart from the other models she worked with.

According to Bettie, people were always saying that she was a sexual innovator. Funny thing is, she never thought of her pictures as sexual. She was just doing her work and having fun in front of the camera with friends. She was very free in front of a lens, just letting herself go, throwing herself into whatever the shot may be. She loved the camera, and the camera certainly loved her back.

Whenever I think of Bettie Page, the spanking photos come to mind, of course. But the one photo that stands out in my mind was her Playboy photo when she was Miss January, 1955. Bettie was kneeling at the base of a Christmas tree, hanging some ornaments, with a little red Santa hat on her head--and nothing else. As she reaches out to put an ornament on the tree, she's facing the camera, giving us a big smile and a wink as if she's letting us in on a joke--sort of, "Kind of silly, isn't it? Me, naked, decorating a Christmas tree? But at the same time, isn't this just FUN?"

Of course, there's a little bit of symbolism here that shouldn't be missed. By being under the tree, Bettie--in all her glory--could be seen as being our Christmas present. It was just what we wanted--and clearly, one of the best we ever got.
Goodbye, Bettie Page. You're right--it WAS fun! And God bless you......

Just a few things....

I've added two new blogs to my "More blogs I read" list. And when I say "new", I mean brand-spankin' new! As in, at most a couple of weeks old.

The first up is The Thoughtful Spanker, the life and times, rants and rambles, stories and pictures that "inspire the spanker within". You gotta love the sound of that--I'm in favor of nourishing your inner spanko.

(Which reminds me a t-shirt I once saw a lady wearing at a Crimson Moon party. It read, "My Inner Child Needs A Spanking!" Thankfully, so did she.....)

The other blog I'm adding is The Secret Life of Andrades Girl. Andrades stopped by here not too long ago and left a very nice comment. I decided to visit her blog and return the favor. Her blog is about a week old at this point, but it's filled with her thoughts and some fiction she's writing. All in all, it shows promise and should make for some interesting reading.

Here's a good chance for you to get in on the ground floor with two fairly new blogs. Go, take a look, and please leave some comments for the authors. Bloggers just love it when you leave comments. Trust me on this one..... :-)

One bit of housekeeping news--I've moved the link to the blog Radha Sutra and put it under the heading, "Blogs I read daily", because--well--because I do! As with all the other blogs under that heading, I'm not saying that they update daily, merely that I find myself checking them every day to see if they've put up any new content because I think they're that good and I enjoy reading them. Besides, she's a Midwestern gal--we Midwesterners have to stick together!

One final bit of nonsense--

There's a radio ad that I've been hearing--possibly a local ad--by some Doctor or clinic (you can see how closely I've been paying attention, can't you?) touting a new liposuction procedure. According to the ad, this new method is better, and a big selling point is that you, as the patient, can undergo the procedure and won't need to be "put to sleep".

Personally, I'm quite happy to discover that death isn't an option.......

You Lookin' For ME?

I know I've mentioned this before, but ever since I added a counter to keep track of the number of visitors I get on this blog, I often check out other stats as well--what web sites people were reading prior to coming here, what keywords they entered into a search engine that led them to Spanking Minnesota, the various countries that my readers come from......fun stuff like that.

I do get a kick out of the keywords.....and if you've ever read Bonnie's Keyword Kaos on her blog, My Bottom Smarts, you know that the keywords can be a good source of amusement at times. I get my share of standard searches--Spanking Pixie and Spanking Sarah Gregory almost always show up. I've talked about both sites often enough, so a search for them is bound to include my blog in some capacity. I still get many variations of "Buffy" keywords--"Buffy spanking Willow", "Buffy spanking Cordelia", "Sarah Michelle Gellar spank". The old standby, "Spanking Halle Berry" still draws them in, too. ("Spanking Salma Hayek" hasn't been nearly as popular--yet!--but I'm holding out hope.) :-)

Some of the keywords are a little....um....strange? Unorthodox? Maybe the best word is "different". For example, one of the keyword searches last night was "spanking wailing kicking mom".

Sounds to me like someone has some issues......

Personally, I have nothing against the spanking and the wailing, but I'm telling you right now-- anyone trying to kick mom is in for the spanking of their life!

Anyway, I checked the keyword stats tonight and got a pleasant surprise. For what I believe is the first time in the history of this blog, the number 1 keyword that people entered in their searches was.........."dr ken minnesota".

Ah, fame!

Probably gonna have to change my phone number now.........

The Ol' Switcheroo

I recently had one of those "D'oh!" moments--the type of moment when you suddenly realize something that should have occurred to you days, weeks or months ago. It involved the Japanese site Hand-Spanking.com which features F/f spankings by hand only-- a site I've been a member of and consider to be a site definitely worth paying for.

In the past, I talked about the things I liked about it, most noticeably the models. The women, with few exceptions, all have that Oriental beauty--timeless and ageless faces, cute little spankable bottoms, and (occasionally) a voice that could cut glass when they're reacting to a spanking. But sitting at work about a week ago, another reason why I liked the site suddenly dawned on me--and why it took so long for me to recognize it is a mystery.

To explain, I first have to go back many years to a time when I was at a spanking party. Several of us were just sitting around talking--spankers, spankees, a few switches--when one woman asked, "What is it you guys like so much about women spanking other women? What's the big deal to you? Why do you like it so much? Would you be that interested if it were a man spanking another man?"

It should come as no surprise that all the males there showed no interest in the M/m scenario.

As for the rest of the question, for me the answer was pretty simple--as long as the spankee was female, it really didn't matter to me who the spanker was. I'm probably not even looking at the spanker. My first response on seeing a F/f photo, for instance, is always, "I wish I was doing the spanking". Since I can't, I'm just happy to see the lady being spanked--the spanker makes no difference, male or female.

I later came to realize that my second response to a F/f photo was, "I'd like to spank the lady who's doing the spanking, too." Apparently, when it comes to F/f pictures, my mind always assumes the spanker is a switch and therefore, subject to being spanked. Don't ask me why--it's not an assumption I ever make in real life. I guess, in fantasy, anything is possible.

I was thinking about that very subject when I had my "moment of clarity"--that's one reason why I liked Hand-Spanking.com. They feature that sort of role-reversal in quite a few of their scenarios.

Take, for example, a series of updates they ran back in September. The first one (video clips and photos) involved a patient in a hospital using a cell phone in an area where cell phones were prohibited. The nurse who caught her decided to deal with her in a very stern manner.....

Later on, the patient came across the nurse breaking the very same rule, and took it upon herself to see the rule enforced....

See? Role-reversal.
The next scenario was a standard one, a mother spanking her daughter over some offense--a very normal and standard set piece of many spanking sites. But the next update went back to the role-reversal theme. A big sister takes her younger sister to task over her homework....

Later, the younger sister catches big sis doing some self-spanking. (Big sister is apparently a big spanko!) The younger girl decides it's the perfect opportunity to take her revenge.....

Once again, spanker becomes spankee--a sight I definitely like to see when it comes to F/f scenes.

I'm glad I figured that out. It just might mean it's time for me to sign up for another membership run!

Happy Thanksgiving

On this day, we are privileged to open our eyes to the miracle of sunlight, of air and ground.... To feel the wind and hear the leaves move in appreciation.

Today and every day, I wish you the comfort of home and family.

Today and every day, I wish you friends for play and for laughter.

Today and every day, I wish you happiness and peace and love.

If you already have all these things, give thanks and wrap your arms around them.

If you don't have all these things, give thanks for the things you do have.....and I wish that this is the year you find the parts that you feel are missing.

Breathe in this day deeply, and count each breath as a blessing.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh, The Weather Outside Is Frightful

Calling the current stretch of weather which seems to be gripping a good part of the nation "frightful" might be a bit of a stretch. When I think of "frightful" weather, I tend to visualize blizzard conditions--strong winds and blowing and drifting snow. The current weather is mostly just cold.

Mind-numbing, bone-chilling frikkin' COLD!

This seems like a good time to stay at home for some fun indoor activites.......

....like, reading some new blogs!

I had mentioned that my blog list was going to expand as I explored many of the blogs that participated in "Love Our Lurkers" day which was organized by Bonnie over on My Bottom Smarts. I'm adding 7 blogs to my list--yes, 7!--which should keep you indoors and warm and by your computer with a cup of hot cocoa for a pleasant day of reading.

Interestingly enough, the first blog I'm adding did NOT come off of Bonnie's list--rather, it came from the "comments" section" of Radha Sutra (another fine blog which you should all be reading). It's a relatively new blog called Life By Jade in which Jade Girl talks about her DD relationship. I'm looking forward to reading more of this one.

All of the other blogs came off of Bonnie's list. Some were completely new to me, a few were blogs that I had glanced at before but never went back to for some reason. All of them have something to offer, and I hope you'll take the time to drop by and give them a look. As always, leave them a comment or just say, "hi"--some feedback is always appreciated.

Tell them "Dr. Ken sent me."

Here are the rest of the blogs. The links to them can be found in my blog list on the right-hand side of the screen--

M-I-C....

On November 18, 1928, in some long-forgotten picture emporium, the lights went down, the curtain went up, a projector lens flickered to life--and Mickey Mouse first appeared in the animated short Steamboat Willie!

With my love of all things Disney, I couldn't possibly let that occasion slide by without comment.
So, Happy 80th birthday, Mickey!

Wow--80! I wonder how old that is in mouse years?

A Whole Lot Of Reading

Love Our Lurkers 3 is behind us, and while the actual totals aren't in, I think I can safely say it was an unqualified success. It certainly generated a lot of traffic here, and the number of comments that were left are an all-time high for me!

So first, thanks to Bonnie for organzing this event and getting a large number of the spanking community involved. Second, thanks to everyone who participated--either by hosting the event on their blogs, or by de-lurking and leaving comments!

The day brought about two very happy results. The first--and probably the most satisfying--was to see the names of some of the people who delurked. A good number of them are bloggers, as well, and in many cases I was familiar with their work. I heard from so many people whose blogs I respect and admire that it gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling to realize that they read my blog and were kind enough to say nice things about it. That's really something special to me, and I appreciate it a great deal.

The other happy result? I now have a whole lot of new blogs that I want to go back to and read! On My Bottom Smarts, Bonnie kept a running list of all the blogs that participated in LOL Day. As I saw the comments rolling in here, I decided that I wanted to visit each blog on the list and leave a comment. (I think I may have missed a few.....my apologies to them!) As I went to each new site, I couldn't help but look around at some of the previous posts, and the same thought kept repeating itself time after time: "I want to come back here again and dig into the archives."

After all, if I didn't do some looking around, I would never have found this image from DarkCasket.com on Dixie's blog, The Inner Workings of Dixie (thedixiewithin.blogspot.com).
Being a big Disney fan--and knowing a few others--I had to grab the image and post it here. I never would have found it if not for LOL Day.

So now my plan is this--go back to Bonnie's list and work my way down it, one blog at a time, and when I find one that I like or that looks promising I'm going to add it to my blog roll. I've got a feeling the blog roll is going to be getting huge before this is over. :-)

In fact, thanks to LOL Day, the are three new additions to the roll, and you can find links to them on the right hand side of the screen. The first probably needs no real introduction, it's simply one of the best blogs around, and that's Todd and Suzy's American Spanking Society.
When I left a comment on their blog, I poked around for a bit and then asked myself, "Why don't I already have them linked?" I couldn't answer that, so it only makes sense to finally add thm to the roll.

Other additions are Jai's Confessions of a College Spanko and SpankingBarbie's Blogs of a Mid Life Crisis. Please go visit all of them and leave them a nice note or comment. Tell 'em Dr. Ken sent you.

Now--where'd I put my reading glasses??

Love Our Lurkers Day....And.....

Every day, hundreds of people come and visit this blog. Maybe you want to see what I have to say. Maybe you just come to look at the pictures. A handful leave comments, but most of you don't. Well, be silent no longer! This is YOUR day--the day we share the love with our silent readers--the third annual LOVE OUR LURKERS day!

It's a chance for bloggers like me to thank the overwhelming majority of people who visit us. This year, something like 135 blogs are participating. For a comprehensive list, check out Bonnie's blog, "My Bottom Smarts".

To participate, all you have to do is the one thing you usually don't--leave me a comment! You can say as much or as little as you like, but say something! You can make up a name, post anonymously, whatever you're comfortable with. This blog, as you may have noticed, is all about having fun--so for one day out of the year, please feel free to join in, even if it's just to say, "Hi", or tell me where your from.

Your presence here is deeply appreciated whether you leave a comment or not. But I'd certainly like to hear from you. Let me know what you're thinking, what other blogs you enjoy reading--how much you say is up to you. I look forward to reading what you all have to say--because like the subject line says--we love our lurkers!

+++++++++++

The "And" part of this post--today, of course, has a deeper and more serious meaning. The eleventh day of the eleventh month is the day that America honors it's Veterans--to remember those who have served as well as those currently serving. Please say a prayer of thanks to those doing what, at times, certainly seems like a thankless job.

They leave their home and loved ones behind. They fight battles not of their own choosing. In some cases, they make the ultimate sacrifice. They do it to protect our freedoms, our liberties, and our way of life. And they do it proudly and without hesitation.

These are the modern-day heroes. They deserve our respect and our thanks. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers--today and every day.

Wedded Bliss

I'm posting this picture in honor of my friend and fellow blogger, Iris (Through Iris Eyes). If you've been reading her blog (and if you haven't--shame on you!) you've noticed that there haven't been many updates lately--but you also know why. She's been planning a wedding!

Well, the glorious date was yesterday, November 8th. My heartfelt congratulations to my good friend Iris and her now-husband M! I hope they managed to recreate the scene pictured below--I know they'll be indulging in variations of it for many, many happy years to come!

And Iris, I still want a photo of you in your wedding dress (not to post, just for myself). I'm sure you looked lovely. I could start tearing up at any moment.......

100,000!!!!!!!!!

November the 5th--the dawn of a new era in American politics. And the dawn of a new number on my blog--yesterday, we had our 100,000th visitor since I started keeping stats!!!! Thank you one and all for coming here to check out my little bits of scribbling and doggerel. I hope you're enjoying it as much as I enjoy doing it. Keep coming back--I like the company!

One last bit of political news that I saw on the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC (well, maybe the last--I don't want to make any promises I can't keep, y'know):

In the 14th district Senate race of Colorado, incumbent Bob Bacon (D) has defeated his opponent, Republican challenger Matt Fries. That's right--I can see the headline now:

Bacon Tops Fries

It was a hotly contested race, with emotions on both sides broiling over in a contest that probably got a bit salty from time to time......

And now, for some strange, inexplicable reason, I feel compelled to post a picture of a hamburger--

Meme This!

Gwen (of Devlin O'Neill's Weblog) tagged me for a meme. The rules are as follows:

The Rules
* Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
* Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog - some random, some weird.
* Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blog.
* Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Ok. So here's the first fact:

1. I don't do memes. Or chain mail. Or chain e-mail. I don't mind answering memes, I guess, but I'm not going to "tag" and bother other people with it. Send me anything that says, "pass this on to 10 other people within the hour" and it goes to that great wastebasket in the ether. I'm not "tagging" anyone. Any e-mail that says, "Keep it going! Don't let this message die!"......dies.

2. I used to play guitar in a local (and not very good) rock band. I started out playing rhythm guitar, and then switched to bass until I left the band for good. I still have a 12-string acoustic guitar, but it doesn't get played very much.

3. My nickname, "Dr. Ken" actually comes from the BBC TV series, "Dr. Who". And I'm talking about the old BBC series that started in 1963, not from the most current incarnation of the series (which I quite like, btw.)

4. I still read comic books, though I don't collect them. I have a "Pull" list at a local comic shop--as the new comics come in each week, they pull a copy of any comic I have on my list and save it for me. That way I don't have to worry about them being sold out before I can get to the shop. At last count, there were 51 titles on my "Pull" list.

5. Whenever I take some vacation time at work, I almost never go anywhere. The ideal "vacation" to me is one where I stay at home and can read, watch TV, go out to a movie theater, get take-out food, play on the computer or on my XBox console, listen to music....anything I want. As long as it doesn't involve going in to work--it's a vacation to me.

6. I hate seafood. There's something about it that my system can't handle. I gag or throw up.
It could all be psychological, but I have no desire to find out.

7. I am a horrible housekeeper, and "clean" only when absolutely necessary.

So now you know a few odd facts about me. If you'd like to take this meme and answer it on your own blog, please feel free. I'm certainly not going to "tag" you......

Spanking Party Time!

This weekend is Chicago Crimson Moon's Halloween Spook and Spankathon. This, of course, reminds me of a very important point--I never got around to writing about their July Summer Spanktacular. (I was going to make some snarky comment to the CM management about coming up with different names for their events--namely, something that didn't end in "-acular"--but clearly, they anticipated me.)

I certainly had a good time at the summer party. I just got sidetracked with other things to write about, and after a while, the party faded into the background. Besides, my party reports can tend to sound all the same--how many ways are there to say, "I went and spanked a lot of people and then I came home"?

The wort part of the July party was simply getting there. First, airfare had quite literally doubled since I'd gone to Chicago in March. Then, bad weather west of O'Hare airport caused the flight to initially be delayed by 50 minutes. The airline finally let us board, taxied out to the tarmac--and then told us the weather was still bad and it looked like we wouldn't move for another 45 minutes. So we sat on the damn plane, everyone probably wishing they'd gone to the restroom one more time before boarding. After 45 minutes, the Captain told us we were still holding, and it would probably be another half-hour. 30 minutes later, we're told we're still waiting and it could be another 45 minutes. I was glad I'd brought a book with me!

Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles, it was within minutes of the previous announcement that the Captain came back on the intercom and said we'd been cleared for takeoff. We finally got underway "only" about two hours behind schedule. Thank goodness I didn't have to catch a connecting flight somewhere.

Once at the hotel, everything was wonderful. The summer party is a 3-night event, and Thursday was sort of a meet-and-greet--a chance to see who was there, renew old acquaintances, meet a few new people--and, of course, spank. I played with a couple of familiar faces that night, one lady who has become a regular on my dance card and another one that I'd somehow missed playing with for a few parties in a row. At the end of the night, my favorite party-goer showed up, and I finished the night by making sure her bottom had some sting in it before she went to her room to turn in. All in all, not a bad start.

Friday, I slept late and missed the breakfast buffet. I don't think I left the room until after Noon. I left the hotel and walked around the surrounding neighborhood. I grabbed lunch at a restaurant across from the hotel, and then walked to a little nearby shopping mall. Lots of food places, there--I certainly wasn't going to go hungry that weekend. I stopped at a little grocery and picked up some soft drinks to keep in the fridge in my room.

The rest of the day passed quickly. I believe I actually dozed off in my room for a while (have to keep my strength up, y'know). By the time I roused myself, the Newcomer orientation had already taken place and the actual party had begun. (The orientation is for people who are either new to the spanking scene or new to the spanking party scene. The group leaders of CM try to give guidelines, anticipate any possible questions that may come up, and just let people know what to expect in general. It can help ease the nervousness of a first-timer, cover some things they maybe had on their mind, and encourages them to stop and ask somebody if any questions pop up later. The biggest point to remembe--CM provides the venue, the rest is up to you. Talk to people, get to know them, put yourself out there. CM is not there to fix you up or force anybody to play with you. If you somehow go through the weekend without spanking anybody--you have no one to blame but yourself.

Friday night I managed to keep busy. I did something I really haven't done a lot of lately--I made it a point to play with some people that I'd never spanked before. I confess that I'd fallen into the habit of just looking for certain people that I was already familiar with. This time I managed to break out of my shell a little bit, and I think I've found at least two that I'll always make time for in the future. The evening ended again with my favorite spankee, and a much more intense session. No implements were involved, but I was doing good enough with just the palm of my hand and didn't need the help. I walked her back to her room afterwards, and then turned in myself.

Saturday dawned, and again I slept late and didn't stir from my room until after 12 p.m. I was planning to head out to the restaurant for lunch when I ran into the twins, Cigi and Cheryl--my blogging buddies (you can find a link to them on the right side of the page, "Cigi's World" and "Positively Spanking"). They were available for play--who needs food at a time like that?

I started out hand-spanking Cigi, but she got called away, so I switched to Cheryl. It didn't matter to me--both ladies are delightful. Cigi finally came back and took back her position. (Cheryl, you might have gotten a little short-changed, there). The twins had been to the Vendor's Fair, and Cigi had purchased a couple of items, including one lovely-looking hairbrush which she gave me to try. One swat from it was enough to make her say, "I think I made a mistake!" I'm not sure what the back of the brush was made of--it wasn't wood, that's for sure--but whatever it was, it obviously imparted one heck of a sting. Cigi's comment wasn't enough to keep me from using it a few more times, however.

I went to the Vendor's Fair after that, and saw a lot of great items for sale. Ian from The London Tanners was there, and he always has great items for sale. I own a few of his wonderful implements, although they don't get used nearly enough. Bill Sova of Cinema Swats was on hand, too, and I purchased DVD's of Volumes 3 and 4 from him. After dropping those off back in my room, I finally went out to lunch.

Evening brought a few more chances to play. One of the highlights was a chance to play with a new/old club member. She had been a member of Crimson Moon a long time ago, and hadn't attended parties for a number of years. Oddly enough, in all that time, she and I had never played. We managed to rectify that situation this time. She has fair skin, so her bottom colored up very nicely, and was pretty red by the time I finished with her. She got up, grabbed the small bottle of lotion that the hotel provided with the room, and asked if I would rub some on her bottom. Of course, I obliged. I'm no fool.

The evening ended with one final chance to play with my favorite spankee, and it was pretty much a repeat of Friday night--a good, long OTK session that let her mind go away for a while and definitely left her de-stressed. Again, no implements were involved--maybe next time.

And with that, the party was over, and I flew home on Sunday. Thankfully, Sunday's flight went off without a hitch, although I think I started to feel party withdrawal the minute I stepped on the plane. The knowledge that I wouldn't get a chance to spank anyone for at least 3 months is always a downer, and for about the umpteenth time I wished that some of these wonderful ladies--the favorite spankee at the top of the list, of course--lived in Minnesota, or at least a lot closer.

It's definitely time for another party.

For Michael

Part of the fun of writing a blog such as this lies in coming up with things to write about. I'm not in a relationship, and there's nobody I spank on a regular (daily, weekly, monthly) basis, so obviously this blog cannot be a diary of my spanking adventures. If it was, I'd only post twice a year, or maybe every three months when a Chicago Crimson Moon party rolled around.

This means I have to write about other things. I'll write about past experiences, perhaps, or some points of spanking protocol, or make up song lyrics, or make comments about pictures I've found on the web, or occasionally write a caption for a picture I've found. Sometimes it takes a while. I don't have any set schedule that I adhere to when it comes to posting. My "posting schedule" consists of the words, "When I feel like it." And then, when the mood hits, I put a post together and throw it out there for all you wonderful readers. (And with a schedule like that, believe me, I really appreciate the fact that all of you keep coming back and checking the blog for updates.)

Posting is just one part of the fun--the other part is reading the comments that a post may generate and responding to them. I've had posts that have gotten no comments whatsoever. Others have replies that number in the double digits. Adding a comment isn't required, of course, but it can add to your fun and your enjoyment of a blog such as this.

Take, for example, Devlin O'Neill's Weblog. Dev, Gwen, and Michael turn out a prolific number of posts, and they have a regular roundtable of readers (myself included) who enjoy talking about them--although sometimes those discussions can veer off into off-topic territory, which might be why it's not unusual to see a post on Devlin's blog with 20, 50, or 75 comments.

Michael is one of those who keeps the reply ball rolling. Sometimes he "highjacks" the blog from Devlin and puts up his own post--other times he confines himself to reading and adding to the commentary to further the conversation, or just to try and keep certain young ladies who frequent the comments ssection from running amok.

Michael is also a valued reader of this blog, and his comments here are always welcome. So I'm posting the following two pictures in his honor. On Dev's blog back on July 11, he wrote a very nice article on actress Scarlett Johansson. (You can go to Devlin O'Neill's Weblog to check it out....use the "search" option at the top of the page and enter--what else?--"Scarlett Johansson".)

The first picture comes from Gloss magazine, with Scarlett's assets covered but nonetheless well displayed:

And the last picture is from a Vanity Fair cover that featured many of the upcoming new--and nude--young actresses to watch out for:

I seem to recall Scarlett Johansson commenting on this photo later, making some reference to her "doughy white butt" (I haven't been able to find the exact quote, so the wording here is approximate). I think Michael would agree that she is worrying needlessly--I think she looks just fine, and not doughy at all.
And as for it's whiteness--I think Michael might have an idea or two on how to add some color to her cheeks!

It's All About Pixie

This post will be short and sweet--rather like a certain young pixie we all know and love....

(Actually, I don't know how short she is....but she is sweet!)

First, in case you didn't know, the spanking clip that Amber Pixie Wells agreed to for her "Cause For Paws" fundraiser is up on her site--all 400 spanks worth. If you haven't seen it yet, you definitely should check it out.

But the really big news--and the real reason you should drop by spankingpixie.com--is that everyone's favorite spankee got married over the weekend! She and her boyfriend have tied the knot, and I could not be happier for the lovely couple. I've never met Pixie--our contact has been limited to comments in posts and a few e-mails--but she is a very genuine, friendly, warm and sweet person. Congratulations to the happy couple, and may their life together always have that certain pixie magic!

I'm not posting any pictures here--this is Pixie's day and time, after all--but if you'd like to see a photo or two of the beautiful bride in her gown, go on over to the Spanking Pixie site (a link is to the right) and add a congratulatory note of your own!

(Sigh) I'm just a romantic at heart......ain't love grand?

Overheard Last Night

With the election drawing closer and so much at stake, I've been watching the news channels more often than usual, mostly CNN and MSNBC. One show that has quickly become a favorite is The Rachel Maddow Show (MSNBC).

Last night she played the news clip of Barack Obama warning his followers not to get too cocky, reminding them of what happened to him in the New Hampshire Primary, and she then read his quote reminding everyone that "we ended up getting spanked."
At which point she looked into the camera, got a little twinkle in her eye, and said, "Spanked?!"--and then gave a playful little growl!
Oh, Rachel, you saucy minx.......was that appropriate? Does your partner need to take you out to the woodshed? From your reaction to the word, "spanked", I get the feeling you've made that trip before....... :-)
Who says politics is boring?

Consequences

All of the naughty young ladies who read this blog--and you know who you are--should be aware that there are always consequences for your actions. And I'm sure it comes as no surprise to learn that "consequences" means being turned over a knee, skirt up or pants down, and receiving a good no-nonesense spanking--or, at least, that's what it means when I'm in charge.

In the picture below, the young lady is already being dealt with. But what will be the consequences if her foot knocks that glass off of the stool?

I don't know about you, but if that happens, I bet those jeans wind up around her ankles and that wooden spoon will be meeting her bare bottom in a very brisk manner!

"Talk" Radio

As you may have gathered from part of an earlier post where I was "Talkin' Baseball", I like sports. Or at least, Minnesota professional sports. And I often think it would be fun to host a sports talk radio show. After all, you'd only have to work 2 or 3 hours a day.

Of course, the rest of your day would be spent in preparation-- reading up on sports, preparing for or taping interviews, watching a lot of games on TV, spanking the occasional intern.....

The photos here are courtesy of Live 105.3 in Dallas, Texas, and Gavin is having to deal with Jasmine. Did she fail to line up a phone interview? Did she hang up on a caller? Did she screw up the tapes and not go to commercial? No, it's actually much simpler than that. It's her birthday!

Yes, talking sports on the radio would be fun. Giving birthday spankings on the air would be even better!

I think I could use an intern for this blog. All those interested (females only, please!) should e-mail me, and we can arrange for an, um....."interview"...... :-)

A Spanking Horror Story

Pixie, and Talkin' Baseball

I want to thank everybody who read my posts here regarding Pixie's "Cause for Paws" fundraising idea and then went to Pixie's blog to make or send in a donation. The final count is in and together you helped Pixie raise an amazing $1, 115! Spankers and spankees are apparently generous to a fault with a warm spot in their hearts for a puppy or a kitty in need of help. Give yourselves a big round of applause or a pat on the back. If you want to give yourself a congratulatory pat on the butt, go ahead, but it's more fun if someone else does it. :-)

Our generousity presented Pixie with a bit of a dilemma, however. Originally, she had proposed the idea that she would get a hard bare-bottom spank for every dollar raised, and the video of her getting those swats would be posted on her blog, Spanking Pixie. Clearly, Pixie had figured that her most loyal readers would donate a dollar or two, and if she was lucky she might raise a couple hundred dollars. But 1, 115 bare-bottom smacks?! And--since she would have to use the Punished Brats equipment to record this--that would be in addition to whatever amount she would have taken in a full day of shooting scenes for PB. The total would have been an insane amount, and meant quite a deal of wear-and-tear on her derriere.

She give the matter a great deal of thought and came up with what, I feel, is a very reasonable solution. She would take a spanking of 400 swats, administered by four of her PB friends. The spanking would be broken down as:
300 spanks by hand
50 with a hairbrush
20 with a wooden spoon
10 with a belt
10 with a school paddle
10 with a cane

I personally think that was a very fair compromise, and that combination of swats, spankers and implements certainly gives all of us who donated our money's worth.

The spanking was done this past week, and Pixie gives a full account of it on her blog, as well as providing a couple of pictures from the proceedings. If you haven't been to her blog already, go there after you finish reading this and read what she has to say. The film of the spanking still needs to be edited and put together before it appears on Pixie's blog, but I'm sure she'll keep us informed as to how it's coming along and when it will be up.

So, let's hear it for a lovely, warm-hearted--and at this point, I'm sure, tender-bottomed--Amber Pixie Wells!

And now, change of topic--
The baseball season--at least for my team, the Minnesota Twins--is over. There's nothing left to look forward to--other than the Minnesota Vikings, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Minnesota Wild, that is. Still, the Twins were one game away from playing in the post-season. When you consider that, prior to the start of the schedule, the Twins had lost Torii Hunter to the Angels--one of the few hitters the Twins had who could provide them with some power hitting--and had traded away arguably the best pitcher in either league, Johann Santana--let's just say that expectations were low. Most of the baseball pundits picked the Twins to finish 4th or worse in their division, and to be honest, that was my own assessment. My feeling was that if the Twins could somehow play around .500, I'd call the season a success.

Instead, they wound up on top or near the top of the AL Central nearly the entire year, challenging the Chicago White Sox for first before losing the division title in a 1-game playoff. I'd give Ron Gardenhire "Manager of the Year" for pulling that off, although in reality that honor will probably go to the manager of the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Twins have a nucleus of good young players, and an incredibly young pitching staff. They now have a year of experience and a play-off race to build on. If Twins management can keep this team together, they should be good for years to come. Still, there are a few changes I'd like to see them make:

I'd like to see them add a power hitter, preferably at 3rd base. The Twins seem to always finish last lately in terms of the number of home runs they hit and--as that final game this season proved--a lot of games can turn on one big swing of the bat. I'd like to see them get a veteran starting pitcher, and I'd like to see them revamp the bullpen a little bit. One of the current starters could go to the pen for a year or so, and we clearly have some relief pitchers who have fallen off in terms of their effectiveness. They probably wouldn't bring much in a trade, but it should be explored. I'd seriously consider trading Bonser, Guerrier and Crain. To replace them, I'd put Glen Perkins in the bullpen, Pat Neshak should return and I'd keep that Mijares kid around.

I don't know whether the Twins could pull all that off. Probably not--but pondering such things is part of the fun of following a big league team. That, and saying, "Wait 'til next year!"

Still, that last loss to Chicago was disappointing. Depressing, even. I need something to cheer me up.

Okay. I feel much better now.......

A Firm Grip On Things

I have to say that, when it comes to kids, I take after the late W. C. Fields. When asked by a lady reporter, "Do you like children at all?", he replied, "Only if they're properly cooked."

However, I have to admit--THIS kid, I like.....

He's gonna grow up to be one of us, I'm tellin ya right now.....

Spanking Is In The Air(Waves)

I can't seem to turn around lately without finding a reference or a connection between spanking and TV.

Have you seen the promo ads for the upcoming season of "Samantha Who?", starring Christina Applegate? It's just a quick series of scenes, so I have absolutely no idea what's going on or what the plot of this particular episode is, but it starts with a shot of Samantha saying to someone off-camera, "Please, please spank me!" (Hey, she wouldn't have to ask me twice!) Do you suppose the writers of the show have been coming across spanking blogs like--oh, I don't know--THIS one and reading comments about her being high on a lot of "Celebrities I'd Like To Spank" lists?

This is followed by a shot of one lady getting a fairly decent whack on the backside from another lady. Again, no idea why.

I guess the only way to find out is to tune in and hope for the best. "Samantha Who?" starts it's new season Oct. 13th, 9:30 EST on ABC. Maybe we'll get lucky and see Christina the way we'd all like to see her:

And yes, that's Christina Applegate's bottom getting warmed at the very very end of the movie, The Sweetest Thing.

More TV and spanking talk--

Gene Simmon's Family Jewels seems to me to be one of the more scripted "reality shows". I don't mean that they're all memorizing lines of dialogue. I think the situations they find themselves in each episode, however, are all planned out well in advance. I watch and enjoy the show regardless.

One bit they always do is having two or more of the family sitting on a red couch talking toward the camera discussing some aspect of their lives or what's going on in that episode. In this past season, the mom (Shannon Tweed) is on the couch with 16-year old daughter, Sophie. Shannon says that when it came to discipline, Gene was--I'm paraphrasing here, but I think the word used was "absent"--and she added that "he'd wait for me to come home and spank you." At which point Sophie looks down and away from her mom, and gets an odd expression on her face. I get the feeling it was part embarassment, part "MOM, ix-nay on the anking-spay" sort of thing. And Shannon suddenly seems to realize it, too, because she backtracks and hesitantly says, 'I never spanked you, did I?". Sophie says, "No," very sweetly and Shannon, trying to make a joke out of it, fake-smacks Sophie's arm and in a harsh voice demands, "DID I?"

The little vignette ends with Sophie laughing it off with one of the most forced, faked laughs I've ever heard. Which leads me to believe that yes, there were indeed times when some spanking went on in the Simmons household, and that they had probably agreed privately among the family at some point that these incidents were never going to be mentioned on the show.

And--like everything else--I could be totally wrong about that. The curse of an active imagination.......

Finally, we come to a quote from "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey, pictured here with his wife, Jillian Fink:

Here's the pertinent quote as reported in a British Tabloid:

He said: “Romance is an atmosphere, a feeling, a mood, a place, it’s in the air. It is the little things - even a spanking every now and then!
“It is hard to define romance other than going with the clichés of a lake, a boat, a picnic basket and a sunset.”
But the sexy actor also treats his wife to more conventional romantic treats, and loves whisking her off for a weekend in France and Italy.
“Certain cities are so exciting because they promote being physical in public,” he revealed. “Paris, New York and Rome are fun to visit. But then there is the Italian countryside, Tuscany and Florence, where everyone is romancing.”

Hmmmm....a little spanking? Being "physical in public"? I think a lot of women who liked Patrick Dempsey now like him a whole lot more!

Hey, does this mean that on "Grey's Anatomy" they're going to change his nickname from "McDreamy" to "McSpanky"?

I can only hope.....

And Now For Something Completely Different....

My thanks to everyone who visited Spanking Minnesota this past Sunday. You set a record for the largest number of visitors I've had in a single day--nearly 800! (793, to be precise.) And on Tuesday, you almost matched that number as 792 of you dropped in. And all just to find out about Pixie's Cause For Paws fundraiser and her rather unique idea on how to get donations.

Oh, yeah....that, and a picture of a puppy.

Who would have guessed that one picture of a little dog could attract that many people here? But hey, if it brings in the traffic, I'm all for it! In fact, from now on, that's all you're going to find here. I'm going to change the name of the blog to something like Duckies And Bunnies and post nothing but cute animal pictures, like this one......

Aw, who am I kidding? Ok, back to normal.....

(Just a reminder--you still have until September 28th to go to Spanking Pixie, read all about her fund-raising and panty-lowering proposal, and make a donation to a very worthwhile cause. I know that times are tight, but you don't have to make a huge donation--even just a dollar or two is a big help .)

Pixie's Cause For Paws

It always amuses me when I think about the number of times I've directed people AWAY from my own blog. You come here looking for a little quick dip into whatever I may have to say, and I wind up telling you, "Go here and read this." Maybe it's a new blog I've read--whenever I add to the blog roll, I always urge you to go, take a look, leave a comment--maybe it's something else I found that I thought was worthwhile. I guess my parents brought me up well--I like to share.

Today I urge you to go to Amber Pixie Well's Spanking Journal--the link is under Blogs I Read Daily, "Spanking Pixie". Look for her September 18th post, "Pixie's Cause For Paws."

Among her many interests, Pixie is an animal lover. (I'm a dog person, myself.) She volunteers at an animal shelter, and they're holding a fundraiser. You can go and read her post on this, but here is what she is proposing: For each $1 that you, the readers of her blog, donate, she will take 1 hard bare-bottomed spank, and the whole thing will be recorded and posted for us to view on her blog!

She has a link within her post that you can click on and it will take you to Pay Pal if you wish to donate that way, and she also includes a snail-mail address for those who don't want to go the Pay Pal route. if you love animals, please look at her post and look into your hearts and then look into your wallets and see if there isn't a dollar or two that you can spare. Our four-legged friends need our help. Donations need to be in by September 28th.

If, for whatever reason, you don't wish to contribute to Pixie's cause, let me urge you to make a donation to an animal shelter or animal rescue or Humane Society in your local area. All of these places do great work, and they certainly can use all the help they can get.
Thanks for your time and your consideration.

New Countries, New Blogs, And Things I Learned From Mr. Whipple

If you've been reading this blog on a regular (or even irregular) basis, you may remember that back in April I started keeping track of all the different countries that my readers came from. It's been some time since I updated that list, but new countries show up in my stats page all the time, and I've finally added them to the list. So a big hello to all the readers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bahamas, Zimbabwe, Mongolia, Yemen, Indonesia, Guam, and Trinidad and Tobago! I hope you liked what you saw here, and please come back often.

I like to think that many of the readers from all of the countries I've kept track of are cute, spankable ladies who are planning a trip to Minnesota to visit the Mall of America and might want a spanking from Dr. Ken during their stay. I also know that the odds of that being true are probably less than 1%. Too bad--a lot of beautiful women in those countries, and I'm sure many of them need to have their bottoms warmed. (sigh)

Speaking of updates, there are two new additions to the Blog Roll which you might want to check out.

First up is a spanking blog called, appropriately enough, My Spanking Blog. It is dedicated to everything spanking, and I do mean everything. You'll find pictures, you'll find video clips, and the owner will even point the way to a good spanking story if he comes across one. There's a little something for every spanko taste, so go there and browse around.

The second blog comes from Audrey Knight and Abigail Whittaker. They recently started a spanking pay site called Spank That Brat (http://www.spankthatbrat.com/ ). The site has some free stuff you can check out, and there's a very good review and interview by Dave on The Cherry Red Report about the site, which makes for some good reading. There's also a companion piece to the site, Spank That Brat Blog with posts from both ladies telling of their Domestic Discipline arrangement. Read and enjoy the blog, and it just may convince you to give their pay site a try. Here's a sample picture:

And finally, I'll close this post with a simple cautionary tale. I was talking to a lady down at work the other day. I've worked in the same unit with her for 20-some years. We don't date or anything like that, we're just good friends who enjoy spending time talking to each other.
Her allergies had been acting up lately, and her allergy attacks are bad! We're talking have-trouble-breathing bad. She takes medication for it, but the medication really knocks her out. She was complaining that all she can do lately is sit on the sofa, sneeze, and gain weight.
SHE: I have gotten SO fat lately!
ME: Oh, please....you're not fat. I'M fat.
SHE: Yeah? Well, if I'm not fat, what am I?
ME: Squeezably soft.
Moral of this story: Never--no matter how good your intentions--compare a lady to a roll of toilet tissue......
