The third and fifth pics, period pieces of a sorts, are marvelous. The fifth looks like a pic from the old Police Gazzette, but the third is a true mystery! Thanks for another great group of pics!
Susan -- I doubt Alice will be spending any time in the corner afterwards...but it's fun when other artists take these well-known characters and use them like this
gentbb -- She calls it a "wonderful way", but her expression seems to say otherwise. (Although it's probably not wise for her to be sarcastic when she's in that position...)
The third one was called "Saga 1960-06" or something like that on Vanillaspankings, which suggests it's from the June 1960 publication of the magazine Saga. Sadly, the content of the magazine are not available online, only Ebay copies, and I'm not paying 15 dollars to see whether I'm right or not.
Yes it was a very good way to wind your self winding watch as many of my girlfriends could attest to. I liked the last one and always Ward and the magazine ones.I remember when I first saw the Dennis one and I thought it was outstanding. I think that is how I found CSR. Thanks for sharing and have a great day. Jim
I like the Dennis the Menace one.
ReplyDeleteDufus -- Henry looks like he's been workng out...

DeleteHi! Dr. Ken, I think the first one is the height of laziness if he can’t wind his watch the proper way! 🤨 Bye for now, Aussie Jenny;
ReplyDeleteAussieJenny -- This IS the proper way! (And considering the effort and energy he's expending, I certainly wouldn't say it's "lazy"...)

ReplyDeleteNorse Cavalier -- Thanks and yes, save the $15. You've provided plenty of good information as it is.
DeleteThat’s proper??? Wow!!!
ReplyDeleteAussieJenny -- Good and proper!

Jim -- Did any of those girlfriends ever wonder why your wristwatch needed so much rewinding? lol
