Susan -- As always, I'd be happy to demonstrate...😉
There's an episode of the TV show "Cheers" which sees Sam (Ted Danson) and Diane (Shelley Long) get into a marathon ping pong match. (I'm relying on my memory, so some of the details may be off.) Both are really competitive, and neither one can win. Diane finally convinces Sam that they're both being silly and that they should give it up. Sam agrees. As they're walking away from the table, Diane tells time to wait a second--she goes back to the table, picks up her paddle and the ball, serves it over the net and declares, "I win" and starts to walk out again. The scene fades to black at this point, but we hear a loud "WHACK", and then a shriek from Diane, and then Sam calmly says, "That's why they're called 'paddles'."
I had no idea the bat could be used that way. I'm being truthful here

I might be able to track it down but thanks for the information
ReplyDeleteSusan -- Season 3, episode 15, name of the episode is "King Of The Hill
ReplyDeleteThe ping pong paddle is light and has an especially “stingy” effect on the bottom :)
ReplyDeleteDan -- Very true. And for anyone looking for a "paddle", they're a lot easier to find
DeleteAn extra thank you Dr Ken
ReplyDeleteSusan -- You are, of course, welcome.
