Susan -- You're correct, although it might take a threatened spanking to make her go there. No surprise here, I'm sure, but I think cornertime plus a spanking is more effective. The cornertime could come before the spanking, or after the spanking, or both. But standing in the corner with a stinging bottom is probably the best way to get her to think about what she'd done.
It's very effective even without spanking
