Discipline Is A Family Affair

A naughty schoolgirl knows there are two times that should cause her to worry the most.  The first is when her father gets home from work.

The second is when her Mom comes into her room at bedtime.

(A side-note -- For years I've looked at the first drawing and asked myself, "A spanking with nineteen what?"  Was it actually a reference to her age?  Should it have been "A Spanking AT nineteen"?  Or was it referring to the number of swats she was going to get?  Nineteen smacks seems like a pretty light sentence, though.  I guess it's just one of those things I'll never figure out....)

The artist, of course, is the late, great George W. Churchward. The "colorized" one (and a lot of others) was "colored" by F.S.T., who, I believe, is German. English isn't his first language and that may explain the caption.

Just to let you know, the 2nd picture was drawn for me. George lived in the Bahamas and he actually send me the original drawing (long since lost ). In the original she was using a hairbrush but I asked George to change it to me more traditionally English.

Just thought you might like to know
