"Cause For Paws" was started last year by the spanking world's very own Amber "Pixie" Wells, an animal lover and a volunteer down at her local shelter. The event raises money for the shelter, which is sorely needed, as I'm sure you can imagine.
Last year, Pixie made a special spanking video which she posted on her blog as a way of thanking all the good and generous people who donated money to the cause. She managed to raise over $1,000 and wound up taking over 400 swats from hand and implements, if I remember correctly.

This year, she once again is proposing to do a special spanking video to help bring in donations. She learned her lesson from last year, though--she got Punished Brats Lily Anna to help share the spanks! Here, in her own words, is the way it's going to work:
"For every dollar raised up to $400, Lily Anna and I will share the swats, 1 hand spank / $1. That means, if we raised $400, Lily Anna and I would each get a 200 count hand spanking.
"At $500, an additional 20 swats each with the wooden spoon.
"At $600, an additional 20 swats each with the leather paddle.
"At $700, an additional 20 swats each with the hairbrush."
"At $800, an additional 10 swats each with the belt.
"At $900, an additional 10 swats each with the wooden paddle.
"And if we reach $1000 or more, we’ll celebrate by giving each other a little playful spanking.
"The spankings will be given by our significant others and will be done all in the spirit of fun and a good cause, but the swats will definitely be real. :) "

As of this writing, Pixie has already managed to raise $715. That means hand spanking, wooden spoon, leather paddle and hairbrush so far. That's going to be some video--and I, for one, am hoping they go over that $1,000 mark!
If you would wish to donate--if not for the video, then do it for the animals--just go to Pixie's site, Spanking Pixie, which I have listed to the right on the blog roll. You can donate through PayPal, or you can send a donation through the mail. You can get the details from Pixie's post on the subject here: http://spankingpixie.com/2009/08/cause-for-paws-2009/

Some of you might be saying, "Well, that's all well and good, but why should I send money to Pixie to help out an animal shelter where she lives?" And, of course, you don't have to. But if you don't want to do that, I urge you to find and make a donation to an animal shelter or rescue in YOUR area. They all do such important work, and donations are always welcome.
Please go to "Spanking Pixie" and check out her "Cause For Paws" post. Look into your hearts and please help out any way you can. The animals can't do it for themselves!
